Blog News - IWNY, Godparenting, and Balance

Hello, Readers. Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you. My "to-do" list is sitting in front me, and my suspicion is that neither of us is willing to give any ground. A number of things have been keeping me busy of late—last week was Internet Week New York and I have a few things to report on, including some government initiatives to introduce social and digital media into the mainstream. And I also had a chance to see my goddaughter in NC, who in my humble opinion, is the most amazing human to watch. She is seven months old and full of wonder—which she expresses by trying to eat just about anything in her path. It's amazing to watch her explore the world.

I'm a little off schedule, but here's a look at where things stand with AiP:

I'm afraid I'm not making as much progress with my research as I would like. It comes back to that darned task list: I glare at it and cross things off one by one, and lo and behold the list seems to grow nonetheless, as if taunting me. Still, I have no plans to concede, so we shall see who emerges victorious.

I haven't forgotten about the In the News feature; it's trapped on the "to-do" list for the time being. If you have any ideas on how this might be useful for you, Reader, feel free to share 'em.

I learned a bit more about the wall in City Hall Park—not as much as I was hoping for, but I'll share with you what I know. (No photos, though, which is rather disappointing.)

I also have plans to feature a few interesting anthro folks on the site. But with everyone's hectic schedules, this has also been a bit slow in coming. It's definitely near the top of the "to-do" list, though.

The redesign for the site is well underway, and in fact, I'm hoping that I may have the new look in place by the end of the month. I'm incredibly excited, and I think and hope you will be too.

I've also got some neighborhood explorations planned for later this summer, and spotlights on small summer towns. I have no doubt that we'll get to all of these items, in time. As always, thanks for stopping by and here's hoping we'll keep each other company
